Trinity House
Sitting at the entrance to the Oxford Business Park, the original Trinity House was tired and uninspiring and lacked any sense of being the main gateway to the park. Internally, the building required a full refurbishment. Our brief was to create a fresh identity while reusing as much of the existing fabric and materials as possible. These included raised access floors, core walls and partitions and external paving.
We recommended the refurbishment of the ground floor as a lab-enabled space to make it more attractive to Lab and Life Science Research tenants. An overhaul of the external landscaping and the building’s façade to provide a sense of place and arrival at Trinity House, were also recommended, along with new external terraces to allow the building’s users to enjoy the revitalised soft landscaping around the site.
Finally, the plan included cycle storage and showering facilities to encourage the building’s users to cycle to work. This approach maximised the entire site’s potential and the planning application for the scheme was successful.
