Gregg has a particular interest in conservation, heritage and high-end residential design, with extensive experience working with listed buildings, historic country houses and complex private estates. Alongside this work, he designs one-off homes and residential projects, working across both contemporary and traditional architecture and responding to the individual character of each site and client brief. He currently leads the masterplanning,restoration and extension of a private 270-acre estate in West Oxfordshire and a significant private estate in Norfolk, encompassing the sensitive restoration and adaptation of historic buildings alongside new interventions and the strategic development of the wider estates.

His experience includes the restoration, refurbishment and extension of some of the country’s most significant historic homes. Recent projects include Crowhurst Place, a Grade I listed c.15th-century medieval hallhouse, and Grade II* listed Surrey Manor, where the comprehensive restoration and reconfiguration of the historic house was combined with a bold contemporary extension. Gregg was also responsible for the delivery of the RIBA award-winning Ruskin School of Art for the University of Oxford.

His approach combines a strong understanding of historic buildings with thoughtful contemporary and traditional design, technical rigour and a focus on successful project delivery. He is particularly experienced inleading complex multidisciplinary teams and balancing heritage significance, ambitious client briefs and the practical demands of construction.

Alongside his project work, Gregg leads the practice’s approach to best practice in detailed design, BIM and project delivery, helping to maintain design quality and technical standards through all stages of aproject.

Gregg joined Spratley & Partners in 2014 and c-founded the Oxford BIM Hub. He became a Director of S&P in 2022 and an equity Partner in 2023.
