Homes

Every home we design is shaped by the people who live in it and the place it belongs to. We respond to each project's unique brief, creating spaces that feel personal, purposeful and rooted in their surroundings.

Our Approach

With more than 20 years’ experience, homeowners choose us for our attention to detail, collaborative approach and professionalism. We listen carefully, bring clarity to complex decisions, and create homes tailored to how each client wants to live.

Our residential architects design buildings that respond naturally to their setting, whether in the countryside, a village or a more urban context. We work across a broad range of projects, including new homes, extensions, reconfigurations and historic refurbishments.

We have expertise in heritage buildings, listed properties and sensitive settings. Our established network of planning, heritage, landscape, interiors, energy, acoustic and flood-risk specialists enable us to bring the right expertise to every project.

From our studios in Henley-on-Thames and Bristol, we work predominantly across London, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, the Cotswolds and Devon.

Our Team

We bring rigorous, wide-ranging expertise to every stage of creating a beautiful home. As qualified architects, we lead each project from the initial idea through to completion, working closely with clients and specialist collaborators throughout.

As members of the Passivhaus Trust, we design for lower energy use, comfort and wellbeing, reflecting our commitment to sustainable architecture.

Our dedicated interior design studio brings architecture and interiors together from the outset, creating a considered and cohesive result.

Context

We design homes that feel like they truly belong, shaped by the character of the place, its landscape, and the way people already live there.

We work closely with you, alongside trusted consultants and skilled craftspeople, to shape a home that reflects your ambitions and feels carefully thought through at every stage.

Sustainability

We want to create homes that are comfortable, efficient, and built to last, using materials and approaches that are kinder to the environment.

Detail

We care about every part of your home, from the big ideas to the smallest touches, so it feels well-made, considered, and a pleasure to live in.

S&P made a significant contribution to the building of Hill View. They made the whole journey a wonderfully positive experience for us as clients. It is an astonishing achievement to have created such an exceptional building on what was a tight plot. Incredibly, the site feels bigger today. Combined with the huge amount of glass we chose to incorporate, our main aim of ‘maximising space & light’ has been brilliantly fulfilled.

Mike and Jan Potter
Hill View

Every corner should tell a story. We wanted spaces that not only look beautiful but work effortlessly for how we live — and they made that a reality. The result is a home that celebrates comfort, connection, and a life well lived.

After years of unsuccessful applications, S&P took a fundamentally different approach. In a complex and sensitive context, choosing the right team made all the difference. What sets S&P apart, particularly in the case of our home, is the extent to which they go above and beyond.
