Christopher Ward, a leading British watchmaker known for its “English design, Swiss-made” approach, opened its new UK headquarters in Maidenhead in November 2024, designed to support the company’s rapid growth and evolving operational needs.
Spratley & Partners delivered a Cat-B fit out, working closely with Christopher Ward’s team to create a flexible, user-focused workspace that reflects the brand’s ethos and facilitates collaboration, creativity, and efficiency.
The new HQ brings together multiple functions under one roof: administrative offices, design studios, logistics and repair facilities, and three customer experience showrooms.
These showrooms feature ‘pickable walls’ that allow visitors to engage directly with the watches, reflecting the company’s commitment to accessibility and craftsmanship without the barriers typical of luxury retail.
The hybrid workspace design balances physical and digital collaboration, with technology enabling seamless communication across Maidenhead, Switzerland, and remote locations. Process-driven layouts optimise product flow and logistics, increasing distribution capacity by 50%, while flexible office space supports future growth.
This project showcases how a deep understanding of brand values and operational demands, combined with thoughtful design, can create a workplace that empowers teams and enhances customer engagement — preparing Christopher Ward for the next chapter of its journey.
Designed with care and precision in collaboration with Spratley & Partners, our HQ is more than just a building; it is a reflection of our ethos and ambition. This achievement was only possible thanks to Spratley & Partners' expertise, enthusiasm, and deep understanding of our brand, for which we are deeply grateful. It combines functionality, collaboration, and innovation, ensuring we can continue to deliver exceptional products and experiences for our customers while equipping our team for the next stage of growth.
