Spratley & Partners led a major refurbishment of Temple Circus, a prominent 85,000 sq.ft office building in Bristol. The project focused on upgrading common areas and vacant floors to deliver a modern, flexible workspace that meets today’s occupier demands.
A highlight is the transformation of the reception area, now expanded to include a new business lounge and coworking zones with refreshed finishes, furnishings, and lighting. The redesign also improves the building’s street presence, creating a more inviting arrival along Temple Way.
Sustainability and wellbeing were key drivers. High-quality end-of-trip facilities were introduced, including showers, lockers, drying rooms, and secure cycle storage. This supports active commuting and the needs of today’s workforce.
On every floor, restrooms were reconfigured into efficient “superloo” layouts to improve privacy and accessibility, aligned with BCO standards. Exposed concrete soffits and building services enhance ceiling heights and provide a clean, industrial aesthetic.
The office floors are designed for future flexibility, easily split into smaller units. Furniture was thoughtfully reused from other client buildings, and materials from strip-out stages were donated to charities, supporting a circular approach.
Temple Circus now offers a refreshed, sustainable, and future-ready workspace that balances functionality with architectural clarity.
